Executive chef Clark Myers left the outstanding Jenny Lake Lodge (see chapter 7) for this new-in-2015 spot. Gather shares Jenny Lake’s commitment to local, seasonal ingredients, but this downtown Jackson restaurant has a much sleeker, modern feel. The menu is a combination of elevated comfort food (cheddar broccoli grits), international inspirations (grilled Spanish octopus), creative veggie dishes (cauliflower risotto, toasted quinoa), and classic Wyoming fare. There’s also an extensive wine list, and on Tuesdays at 2pm, you can pop in to taste the week’s special with the chef.
