Salt Life Food Shack

As the New York Times put it: “First Salt Life was a tattoo. Then it became a logo. Now it’s a lifestyle brand with plans to open stores from coast to coast.” Let’s add to that: restaurants. Not content to just sell tees, coolers, and other gear embossed with the name, the Floridian group behind this surfer brand is going into food. This is the flagship eatery, set 3 blocks off the sand and offering a menu that should fuel wave catching: hearty sandwiches, fresh rolled sushi, tacos, local fried shrimp, poke bowls, avocado fries, and our fave, a wood-grilled mahi sandwich with cilantro lime and red pepper aioli. There’s also beer, oysters, booze, and did we mention beer and booze? On Tuesdays from 4pm,  to 7pm sushi and selected draft beer and wine are half off; on Thursdays specials are on margaritas and oysters.
