Staying at this boutique hotel north of the old town offers a taste of the the life of the sherry aristocracy. Rooms in the mansion (all except the budget doubles) are spacious and filled with light and look out on terraces, gardens, or the big pool. (The budget rooms are small and in a separate building.) Decor is traditional and elegant with pale walls, classic wooden Spanish furniture, and wrought-iron accents wherever you look. The hotel is plugged into the sherry trade and can easily arrange for private tours of bodegas. The only downside of the Villa Jerez is the 25- to 30-minute walk to Plaza Arenal.
