The largest and most expensive hotel in town is the four-star Kaimenzi Dajiudian (tel. 0798/857-77770; it's the same company that supplies all the gas in Jingde Zhen) located in the old Telecom Building on Xing Feng Lu, but it would not be my first choice. Newer and more centrally located is the Holy Mountain Hotel (Sheng Shan Jiudian) Zhu Shan Xi Lu 5 (tel. 0798/838-8888; fax 0798/852-6666), which looks like a Bauhaus box hospital from the outside but has nicely appointed rooms inside. Standard rooms are ¥366, and suites ¥788 to ¥1,588. The usual credit cards are accepted, but there's no foreign exchange.
Of the many budget options along the main street, Zhu Shan Xi Lu, the soon-to-be three-star Binjiang Binguan at no. 19 (tel. 0798/703-2288; fax 0798/703-2266) is the best choice, was refurbished recently, but standard rooms still go for ¥120). This hotel has a nice riverside location; look out for the local opera sessions that take place outside under the bridge during the evenings. April through November is the busy season.
