The cafe at Jökulsárlón (June-Aug daily 9am-7pm; May 15-30 and Sept 1-15 daily 10am-5pm) has sandwiches, waffles, and decent seafood soup. Two accommodations listed above have good restaurants. Guesthouse Frost and Fire serve their set-dinner menu of fish (2,600kr/$42/£21) or lamb (2,800kr/$45/£22) to non-guests who reserve in advance. Smyrlabjörg's enormous dinner buffet -- with lamb, pork, chicken, beef, and no less than nine fish dishes -- is open to non-guests from 6 to 9pm, June through mid-September; the cost is 3,950kr and no reservations are necessary. In the off season Smyrlabjörg serves set dinner menus for 2,600kr ($42/£21), but only with a day's advance notice.
