This restaurant’s decor and menu has hardly changed since its inception in the 1950s. And that’s no bad thing. Expect impeccable service—with limited English—in a mirrored dining room filled with more lamps, boxes, and objets d’art than The Great Gatsby’s mansion. Classic French fare is a delight. Menu items may include smoked herrings with potatoes, steak-frites, snails in garlic, and créme caramel. Best value of all is the 16€ early dining menu. Arrive for dinner before 8pm for three bargain courses, with coffee and wine included in the deal. Service spills outside onto a sunny street terrace from May onwards.
