Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum
Completed in 1860, this red brick structure is the oldest extant building in Palm Beach County. Its small museum covers 5,000 years of regional history, explained in detail during various tours, including climbing tours up the 105 steps to one of the best views in the region. There are also compellling archaeology and early native American history tours. Children must be 48 inches or taller to climb. The sunset tour is our favorite, just for the colors, and sunset tourists get a voucher for a free drink, appetizer, or dessert at the Tommy Bahama restaurant at Harbourside Place, which somewhat offsets its higher price.
