About our rating systemThree U.S. Forest Service campgrounds with a total of 56 sites are located at Ward Lake Recreation Area. Sites at its Signal Creek and Last Chance campgrounds can be reserved through the national system at www.recreation.gov. At the end of North Tongass Highway, the Settlers Cove State Park (907/247-8574) includes a sandy beach and 14 campsites. The camping fee is $10 per night.
