La Mer & Dewey House
If we were to build a beach house, this is exactly what it would look like. And although it’s technically part of the sprawling, bustling Southernmost Beach Resort, the adults-only Victorian-style La Mer & Dewey House bed-and-breakfast are quaint and cottagey with separate entrances and even an innkeeper. Each room has a turn-of-the-19th-century feel but with modern amenities, and luxurious linens. Rooms have balconies or private patios with views of the ocean. Stunning. Every morning from 8 to 10am there’s a deluxe continental breakfast on the Dewey House Deck overlooking the beach that’s shared with La Mer & Dewey House’s sister hotel, the more party-hearty Southernmost (it has a lively, often packed pool and pool bar that’s open to guests here). To keep with the old-school theme, there’s a daily afternoon refreshment service on the Dewey deck, also included in the rates, from 12:30 to 1:30pm.
