From the harbor at Ross Castle ★, the MV Pride of the Lake takes you on an hour-long waterborne cruise. The covered boat ride is a little on the touristy side but the views of the park from the lake are gorgeous. You can also take a tour that combines a lake cruise with a “jaunting car” ride around the park. Tip: You can get to the pier by Ross Castle on a free shuttle bus from Killarney town center. It leaves Scotts Street (by the junction with East Avenue Road) a quarter of an hour before each sailing. Lake cruises are strictly limited to 80 people, so you may want to book ahead at busy times—but be sure to bring a printout of the confirmation or they won’t let you board.
