One of the most tranquil spots in Killarney National Park (not to be confused with the more famous place with the same name in County Wicklow), this is where the Upper, Middle and Lower Lakes converge. You can hike from Muckross House (about 5km/3 mi), or park at the unmarked lot about 1.6km (1 mi) south of the Torc Waterfall parking area on the main Ring of Kerry road. From here the walk down a signposted path takes about 15 minutes, although “unofficial” side paths also lead you down to the shore at different points. These can give you just as lovely views, and be free of people, but take care, as the ground is uneven.
