Planning a trip to Kings County
Several of the island's main roads, including Highways 1, 2, 3, and 4, connect Kings County with Charlottetown and the western flank of the island. So it's easy to get here; get out a map, plot a cool route, and point your car north and west. If you're coming from Nova Scotia, the Woods Island ferry docks up on the southern coast, though fewer and fewer travelers seem to take that route anymore.
Visitor Information
There’s a provincial Visitor Information Centre at 95 Main St. in Souris (which is also Rte. 2; tel. 902/687-7030), open daily from June through September. Another is located where Route 1 meets Route 4, just after you roll off the ferry at Wood Islands (tel. 800/463-4734 or 902/962-7411) also open mid-May through mid-October.
