Planning a trip to Kinsale

The Kinsale Tourist Office on Pier Road, Kinsale (www.kinsale.ie; 021/477-2234) is open Wednesday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm.

Getting Around

Kinsale's streets are so narrow that walking is the best way to get around, and the town is so small that there is no local transport; if you need a taxi to outlying areas, call Kinsale Cabs (tel. 021/477-2642) or Cabs 3000 (tel. 021/477-3000).

Getting There

Bus Éireann (tel. 021/450-8188; www.buseireann.ie) operates regular daily service from Cork City to Kinsale. The arrival and departure point is the gas station on Pier Road, opposite the tourist office.

Kinsale is 29km (18 miles) south of Cork City on the Airport Road; if you're coming by car from the west, use the N71. From East Cork, Cross River Ferries Ltd. provides regular service across Cork Harbour.
