The dining room at Man Friday overlooks the bay in Scilly, a perfect setting for the reliably excellent food served here. We couldn’t resist the seafood—smoked salmon rolls stuffed with shrimp, plaice with crab and lemon butter, and delightfully retro-style sole Colbert—although the beef and lamb options are excellent too. For dessert, try the sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce. Sunday lunch (€29.50 for three courses) is quite an event, and always very popular—be sure to book ahead, and best not plan to do much with the rest of the day afterwards, except relax and digest. Ask to sit in the conservatory for the most heavenly views.
