A husband-and-wife team has run Max’s since the ‘90s, and they’re still effortlessly adept at making diners feel welcome. The menu changes seasonally, but the main flavors are all local—meat from Kilbrittan, a little village down the coast, and shellfish tcaught close enough that they could have been carried to the door. (The catch of the day is posted on the website if you want to know what to expect). Max's also has a full vegetarian menu and plenty of kids’ options. The early-bird menu (a thoroughly reasonable €25 for 2 courses) is served until 7:15pm (7pm on Sat).
