Landhaus
Originally an arsenal and later Carinthian state headquarters, this structure now houses the offices of the provincial government. Building began in 1574 and finished in 1590. The courtyard of the present building has two-story arcades, and the set of staircase towers has bulbous caps. Its Grosser Wappensaal (Great Blazon Hall), dating from 1739, was handsomely decorated by Josef Ferdinand Fromiller. The painting on the hall's ceiling depicting 665 heraldic shields is executed in trompe l'oeil.
