Active Pursuits in Knokke-Heist and Het Zoute

Golfers should find they've come to the right place. The Royal Zoute Golf Club, Caddiespad 14, Knokke (tel. 050/60-12-27; www.zoute.be), has two 18-hole courses beside the dunes and accepts visiting players. Greens fees (visitors must be a member of a golf club) are 95€ ($152) for the championship course, and 55€ ($88) for the executive course.

Great Green Way -- From Knokke-Heist, drive or cycle the 48km (30-mile) Riante Polderroute, a signposted route that takes you through wooded parks, past the Zwin, into polder farm country and along canals, to Damme.
