Cheap eats of every type abound in busy Had Rin and, increasingly, even in the smaller villages here. Luxury resorts in the northeast offer special occasion fine dining options. Serving up all kinds of tasty seafood treats, Fisherman's (www.fishermansphangan.com; tel. 08445-47240) is by the pier on Ban Thai Beach and some tables are converted fishing boats -- very charming. They're famous for the yellow crab curry, but the fish cakes are fab as are the grilled prawns. Book early; especially during Full Moon days. Near the pier on Had Rin Nai, Om Ganesh (tel. 07737-5123) serves up authentic Indian curries and biryanis. It's very popular, so do book ahead. Go to Ando Loco (www.andoloco.com; tel. 085791-7600) for margaritas and fajitas when another bowl of curry seems like one too many. If you wake up starving and sick of your hotel's breakfast options, Nira's (tel. 086595-0636) is the place to go on the island for baked goods and outstanding coffee. Take one bite of the pizzas at Monna Lisa (tel. 084441-5871) and you'll smile or try Fabio's (tel. 07737-7180) famous seafood risotto (there's a nice selection of wine here, too).
