Play golf at what must be one of the most gorgeously scenic courses in India: The Kumaon Regiment's golf course at Upat near Ranikhet is set in pine forests and features a natural hazard -- a 300m (1,000-ft.) cliff. Signboards threaten all non-military personnel who attempt to play here, but visitors are welcome (Mon, Tues, and Fri 7am-6pm; Wed, Thurs, and Sat 7am-12:30pm; 9 holes Rs 200/$4.60, clubs Rs 100/$2.30, caddy Rs 150-Rs 250/$3.40-$5.70).
