Planning a trip to La Desirade

From Grand-Terre, most passengers opt for transit to La Désirade by ferry, which leaves from the wharves at St-François every day at 8am. Returns from La Désirade for St-François include a daily departure at 4:45pm, allowing convenient access for day-trippers. Trip time is around 50 minutes each way, depending on conditions at sea. Round-trip passage on the ferryboat costs 18€. Call tel. 590/20-05-03 for schedules, but only from 4 to 7pm daily.

Getting Around

Three or four minibuses run between the dock and the towns. To get around, you might negotiate with a local driver. Bicycles are also available at the hotels.
