This boutique rainforest lodge is located on 100 hectares (247 acres) of land, much of which is primary rainforest. Rooms are certainly comfortable and cozy, but consider splurging on one of the wooden bungalows, which are much roomier, have TVs and Jacuzzi tubs, and their own large, covered-deck. Throughout you’ll find lots of varnished hardwood, and handsome headboards studded with sections of hardwood tree trunks. The large pool here is fed by a natural spring and kept chemical-free. The lodge has miles of excellent trails, leading through wildlife-rich rainforest, with waterfalls, rivers, and jungle lagoons to explore. It offers a host of guided adventure tours and activities. The small village of Chachagua sits 10km (6 miles) south of La Fortuna, on the road to San Ramón. The lodge itself is another 2km (1 1/4 miles) along a dirt road from the village.
