The pool, sauna, steam, and hot-spring complex at this contemporary resort are first-rate, and include such fun touches as lounge chairs submerged in some of the pools. Around this “main attraction” are the five-story buildings that house the guestrooms, each of which has a private balcony overlooking the pools and Arenal Volcano. The rooms themselves are spacious but bland—white tile floors, white walls and ceilings, with a few splashes of color provided by artwork, patterned linens, and throw pillows. An excellent little spa is attached to the hotel, and the restaurant here is quite good.
