Le Sarment

Located in the scenic village of Mittelbergheim, this is a good value historic inn along  the Wine Road. Originally opened in 1614, the inn was taken over in 2020 by two Alsatian brothers and master restaurateurs, Laurent and Nicolas Kocher. They’ve added a 21st century feel all the while keeping the auberge’s historic charm, including its two-story stone staircase, classified as a historic monument. The refurbished guest rooms are each individually decorated with wooden bed frames, colorful cushions and leather armchairs; some have exposed beams and stone walls, and all have modern bathrooms with a large tub or shower. The brothers have also reinvented the inn’s restaurant, now featuring a modern French bistronomic menu (set menus 16€ at lunch and 39€–44€ at dinner, restaurant closed Sun night to Tues night).
