Active Pursuits in Lake Powell and Glen Canyon

Although boating and watersports are the main activities, most of this recreation area is solid ground -- actually hard rock. Lake Powell makes up only 13% of the area, so hikers and other land-based recreationists will find plenty to do. There are few marked trails and changing water levels create a constantly shifting shoreline.
