Although March through November is the most popular season, the fishing is good year-round, especially for huge rainbow trout, which are often caught in the Colorado River between the dam and Lees Ferry. Lake fishermen also catch largemouth, smallmouth, and striped bass; catfish; crappie; and walleye. Because Glen Canyon National Recreation Area lies within two states, you'll need Utah and/or Arizona fishing licenses, depending on where you want to fish. The marinas sell licenses as well as fishing supplies.
