Since 1946, this family grocery has been the go-to for dry goods, frozen meats and vegetables, liquor, paper products, cosmetics, utensils, and other miscellany. It got a major makeover, courtesy of Larry Ellison and Pulama Lanai. Now the inside resembles a miniature Whole Foods with an array of fancy chocolates and fine wines, mixed in with aloha shirts, and fold-up lauhala mats. Don’t faint when you see that milk costs $9 a gallon; that’s the price of paradise. The fish counter sells fantastic poke (raw seasoned fish).
