Organized Tours in Lassen Volcanic National Park
Free interpretive programs take place daily in summer, highlighting everything from flora and fauna to cultural history and volcanic processes. Junior Ranger programs are offered to kids aged 7 to 12; check park bulletin boards or the park's website or newspaper for a current schedule.
From January to early April, a park ranger leads free 1 1/2- to 2-hour snowshoe hikes across Lassen's snow-packed hills. Bring your own snowshoes; the park does not rent or loan them out. For details, call park headquarters (tel. 530/595-4480) or check the website for the current schedule.
