This hostel is the best in the Rockies, thanks to the detail-oriented owners, “Wild Bill” Clower and Cathy Hacking. A converted house just up Seventh Street from the main drag, this place is popular with travelers of all kinds, from college-age ramblers to retirees to endurance athletes. The services are a la carte—laundry or walk-in showers are $3, breakfasts are $7, and carb-heavy dinners are $13—and Clower and Hacking are terrific hosts. Besides men's and women's dorm rooms, there are three small rooms for couples and a pair of larger private rooms (the only ones with private baths). The hostel has a social vibe, exemplified by the nightly movies in the comfy living room.
