One of Leipzig’s hippest restaurants is helmed by Paul Berry, an Australian chef who sailed the high seas for 15 years, cooking for such celebs as Lenny Kravitz and Hillary Clinton. Having settled down in Leipzig, he now woos discerning diners with healthy, eclectic, and delicious fare inspired by the cuisines of the world, especially from Asia and the Mediterranean. The menu is small but always in flux. Berry is a genius at juxtaposing seemingly incompatible ingredients to create surprising flavors and textures. Since he believes that good food must be paired with a good wine, he’s put together a handpicked selection of fine bottles, many available by the glass. The decor is spacious, angular, and cosmopolitan and beautifully matches the food. Also a good spot to drop by just for a nightcap. It’s a small place, so book ahead.
