Restaurants in Leon, Nicaragua
Down-to-earth León has equally down-to-earth food. Because of its sizeable student population, most restaurants serve comida típica, cheap traditional fare, as well as ubiquitous burgers and pizzas. If you don't mind eating standing up, there are food stalls set up behind the cathedral and outside Colegio La Salle serving chicken topped with cabbage. It might be some time before the city's restaurants earn culinary accolades, yet slowly but surely, gourmet centers are beginning to pop up. Wherever you go, you'll usually get character in the form of high ceilings, tiled floors, and a courtyard.
