While the center of Lima was once the preferred neighborhood to overnight, most travelers moved on to Miraflores and neighboring districts decades ago. Few original accommodations have been maintained, and there’s little to do here in the evenings. This excellent little guesthouse with simple amenities in a 1920s casona is on a secure street beside similar homes—a rarity for the neighborhood. Facilities are basic, but English-speaking owner Monica Moreno keeps the house clean and the hot water running. Eclectic artwork and homemade pizzas help give the hotel a personal feel.
