Planning a trip to Llanberis

Getting There -- The nearest rail station is at Bangor, 14km (9 miles) north of Llanberis. Buses run frequently throughout the day (Mon-Sat) from Bangor to Llanberis. Contact the Arriva Bus Company (tel. 0844/800-4411; www.arriva.co.uk). Because of the many stops en route, buses take about 25 minutes each way.

Buses between Llanberis and Caermarfon run Monday to Saturday every half-hour, every 1 to 2 hours on Sunday. Bus timetables are available from the Llanberis Tourist Information Office and the Caernarfon Tourist Information Centre.

Visitor Information -- The Llanberis Tourist Information Office, 41B High St. (tel. 01286/870765; www.llanberis.org), is open from Easter to the end of October daily from 9:30am to 5:30pm. The rest of the year, it's open Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:30am to 3pm.
