Follow Rte. 1 1km (.6 miles) east of the main bridge over Jökulsá í Lóni.

The youth hostel can serve breakfast and dinner on request; otherwise all food must be brought into the area. The nearest markets are in Höfn and Djúpivogur. Most of the mountain huts have kitchens.
