When it's time for espresso, head to Lopez Village and drop by Isabel's Espresso (tel. 360/468-4114), a local hangout in the Village House Building on the corner of Lopez Road North, Lopez Road South, and Old Post Road. Across the street, you'll find divinely decadent pastries and other baked goods at Holly B's Bakery (tel. 360/468-2133; www.hollybsbakery.com). Note that this bakery is closed from late November to early April. For fresh-squeezed juices and healthy light meals, try Vortex Juice Bar & Good Food, Lopez Road South (tel. 360/468-4740), which is located in Lopez Village in the Old Homestead. Next door to the juice bar, you can shop for natural foods at Blossom Natural Grocery, 135B Lopez Rd. (tel. 360/468-2204).
Turn up Village Road North and you'll find Vita's Wildly Delicious (tel. 360/468-4268), which sells wines and tasty gourmet take-out food from a colorfully painted Victorian house. In summer, this place is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm. A little farther along this same street is the Lopez Island Old-Fashioned Soda Fountain, 157 Village Rd. (tel. 360/468-4511; www.lopezislandpharmacy.com), in the Lopez Island Pharmacy. During the summer there's a Saturday farmers market across the street from these latter two businesses. For local produce (and handicrafts), check out the Lopez Farmers Market, which is held on summer Saturday mornings in a park on Village Road in Lopez Village.
