Quite frankly, you won't be coming to Loreto to shop, and if you do, you're going to be disappointed. Loreto has little in the way of shopping, either for basics or for folk art and other collectibles from mainland Mexico. A handful of the requisite shops selling souvenirs and some artesanía are all within a block of the mission. More known for its atmosphere than its material holdings is the Sunday farmers' market/flea market (6am-noon). It's Loreto's weekly community get-together, held in the arroyo just south of town. Follow the crowds.
