Ensconced among the trees in Griffith Park, this 5,800-seat venue in a natural amphitheater built in 1929 repeatedly captures trade publication Pollstar Magazine’s award for North America’s Best Small Outdoor Venue. Its history of legendary performances from the likes of The Who and Paul McCartney guarantees you’ll be visited by rock ‘n’ roll spirits before you hear a single note. The 2014 season’s lineup included Ringo Star, Goo Goo Dolls, Tori Amos, Los Lonely Boys, and Sara Bareilles. The Greek Shuttle also was introduced in 2014, along with off-site parking on Crystal Springs Drive, north of Los Feliz Boulevard near the I-5 freeway. The natural-gas shuttles are available only by advance reservation ($7 per vehicle).
