A longtime local breakfast favorite, serving not only fluffy French toast and omelets but killer breakfast burritos and chilaquiles (Mexico’s morning staple), Kay 'n Dave’s is known chiefly known for big portions of affordable, lard-free Mexican food. The Oaxaca -born chef goes beyond the familiar with dishes such as molcajete (a slow-cooked stew) and clayuda (a kind of “pizza” with a large tortilla base), then mixes things up with such creations as portabella mushroom quesadilla and salmon and spinach enchiladas. Kids are in their element here. with their own menu and plenty of crayon artwork.
