One of more than 50 varied restaurants in arts-oriented neighborhoods on both coasts from restaurateur Nick Valenti and celebrity Chef Joachim Splichal, the flagship Patina’s second incarnation holds down a corner of the Walt Disney Concert Hall. French and California cuisine are woven into something new, producing a constantly changing menu featuring Splichal’s signature wild game dishes, such as Scottish wood pigeon with yams, celeriac and pear. The wine list garnered Wine Spectator’s 2014 Grand Award. A paleo menu recently made its debut, but vegetarian dishes are also available, both in the tasting menu and the regular fare. Caviar, steaks, and exotic cheeses appear on carts after concerts end, but if you want a quiet, intimate dinner, book at the beginning of a performance.
