Hudson River Museum
This large cultural complex in Yonkers, just north of New York City, covers several bases, including fine art, science, and history. It features six modern-art galleries (showing the works of George Segal and Andy Warhol, among others) and a high-tech planetarium. Also on the premises is a handsome restored 19th-century Victorian mansion overlooking the Hudson River and Palisades. The museum hosts a variety of interesting temporary exhibits as well as lectures, concerts, creative workshops, special seniors and family programs, and outdoors activities, such as kayaking on the Hudson.
