Locals claim the sushi here is every bit as good as what you'll find in New York City, and it's hard to disagree. I know many a sushi snob who detour off the Saw Mill River Parkway on the way out of the city to dip into Sushi Mike's, a friendly and fun little spot with excellent and creative rolls, sushi, and sashimi, as well as daily seafood specials. The owner, Mike, is a gregarious sort who greets regulars and newcomers at the door and comes around to the tables to make sure his diners are happy. There is sometimes live jazz on weekend and Monday nights, when a vocalist and keyboard player are crammed in next to the sushi bar; if you're not interested in being serenaded, sit in the lower dining room, or in warm weather, at one of the handful of tables on the street corner.
