Star NYC-based chef Jean Georges Vongerichten is the master behind Bahia Beach’s signature restaurant, so the menu is a “greatest hits” of the celebrity chef’s food at his other restaurants. Not that we’re complaining: The food is stellar, whether you try such appetizers as steamed shrimp salad in champagne dressing or the house version of a Mexican pizza. Standouts among the entrees include salmon with lime potatoes and cucumbers, and the charred coconut spicy chicken with pineapple. The “simply cooked” steak and fish (served with blistered peppers and spicy sauce) are also excellent. Guests can ante up for a six-course tasting menu ($86) or order a la carte. The restaurant is as swellegant as the food. In the morning, classy renditions of basic breakfast standards at eye-popping prices are on offer.
