Musée des Soieries Brochier
This new museum is situated at the back of the Brochier silk shop, under the arches of the Grand Hôtel-Dieu. It traces the 130-year history of this Lyonnaise family’s silk-making enterprises. Four generations of Brochiers have made them one of the biggest names in haute couture with Givenchy, Valentino and Yves Saint Laurent all using their fabrics. As well as historic looms, you’ll learn about the breadth of their silk business from haute-couture dresses to sleeping bags to fiber optics.
