La Courtille de Solutré

In an idyllic location in the middle of the Pouilly-Fuissé vineyards, beneath the Rock of Solutré, is this gourmet “restaurant with rooms.” Contemporary and original features work well together in this old stone village inn. On the menu you’ll find traditional French dishes often enhanced by Spanish flavors, such as mussels with chorizo and chestnut with Basque ham; look out for the AOC Mâconnais: a hard, mild goats’ cheese. The wine list has a good selection from the village and immediate area, including their own vineyard, Domaine du Chatelet in St-Amour. The six stylish rooms are each individually and tastefully decorated in whites and neutrals, with the odd antique; all but two have views over the vines.
