La Perejila

On Cava Baja, it’s easy to tell which restaurants are the locals’ favorites. It’s often standing room only at this picturesque bar that celebrates all things Andalucian with its red and green decor, ceramics on the walls, and flamenco soundtrack. You can’t reserve, but ask the friendly staff what are your chances and you might be able to secure a stool or even a table at the back. The traditional fare is quickly rustled up and good value—home-made soup, red peppers with anchovies, tuna or meat empanadas, to be washed down with an interesting selection of Spanish wines or house-blended vermouth on tap.
