Wilderness Safaris has recently opened a camp situated close to Deception Valley (a 3-hr. game drive transfer from the Deception Valley Lodge airstrip): Kalahari Plains Camps comprises just six Meru-style en-suite tents; like Deception Valley Lodge, they're raised off the ground to catch the breeze and take in the sweeping views across the Kalahari ($960-$1,150 double per night, all-inclusive). It's not in the same league as Jack's Camp, however.
