Clad in colorful tiles that evoke an old-fashioned Málagan wine bar, this hip little Soho restaurant specializes in seafood of the coast (especially shellfish) and soupy baked rice dishes alternately called arroces or paellas. Some of the starters are classics of the city cuisine—roasted red pepper salad, for example, or caldillo de pintarroja, a fish chowder made with cat sharks fished in the bay of Malaga. (The species is one of the most abundant in the region.) Grilled fish and even sirloin steak are available, but most tables share a rice dish as the main course. Options include chicken rice, vegetable rice, and several versions with seafood. If the weather is too cool to eat outside, be warned that the only dining room is up a narrow spiral staircase.
