One of the region’s most evocative places to stay, this working coffee hacienda (with excellent tours) has a magical setting, historic charm, and plenty of on-site activities, as well as attractions nearby. With accommodation for all budgets, a diverse mix of travelers adds to the lively, informal ambience. In the characterful Main House (the most upscale options), comfortable, bright rooms are decorated with family artifacts, books, and memorabilia. There are simple, more austere, rooms in the modest Guest House, and dorm rooms with shared baths in the hostel. You can happily spend days swimming in the pool surrounded by birds, butterflies, and lush vegetation; you can take a tour of the coffee farm, or a yoga class in a guadua gazebo, and there’s hiking and horseback riding on trails that lead through the property. There’s a welcoming family vibe with hearty communal meals, bonfires, and BBQs.
