There’s a dearth of fine places to stay in Manizales, but this super-friendly hostel is the top choice for travelers who want to be close to the city’s nightlife/restaurants and maintain easy access to the surrounding countryside. The characterful, traditional home, decorated with colonial antiques, artworks, and exquisite woodwork, is just steps from the city’s cable car system. Basic dorm rooms with bunks are pristine (some even have chandeliers and tapestries on the wall), and there are simple double rooms with shared baths. The mountain views from the rooftop bar/terrace are wonderful (especially at sunset) and there’s an array of amenities, including a large communal kitchen and a game room. The warm and welcoming hosts are happy to arrange tours of the area.
