“Blue Monkey” has a hostel-like feel and very social vibe, with slightly more upscale accommodations than you’d find in a typical hostel. Husband-and-wife owners Paige Cain and John Westgard have made two rooms, a public restroom, and one swimming pool accessible to disabled travelers. The Mono Azul is the first hotel on the right on the road from Quepos to Manuel Antonio National Park, conveniently located at the bus stop. Rooms, which can be somewhat dated, vary quite a bit in size and amenities; larger and higher-priced rooms have a/c and TV. The two pool areas are quite nice, with pretty gardens and plenty of shade, and you can often spot toucans and sloths here. The busy little restaurant is a great place to meet fellow travelers.
