The bars at the Barba Roja restaurant, about midway along the road between Quepos and Manuel Antonio, and the Hotel Sí Como No are good places to hang out and meet people in the evenings. To shoot some pool, head to the Billfish Sportbar & Grill ★ at the Byblos Resort (on the main road from Quepos to the park entrance). For tapas and local bocas, try Salsipuedes (roughly midway along the same road), which translates as “get out if you can.” If you want live music, Bambu Jam ★ (along the same road) and Dos Locos (in the heart of downtown), as well as Emilio’s Café ★, are your best bets. You might also try The Hawg & Bill, which fronts the beach in Playa Espadilla. In downtown Quepos, Sargento Garcia’s and Wacky Wanda’s are popular hangouts.

Night owls and people looking to dance can find live salsa and merengue music at Bambu Jam, and for real late-night action, the hottest club in town is the Cuban Republik Disco Lounge, in the heart of Quepos.

The Best Western Kamuk Hotel in Quepos and the Byblos Resort both have small casinos and will even foot your cab bill if you try your luck gaming. If you want to see a movie, check what’s playing at Hotel Sí Como No’s little theater, although you have to eat at the restaurant or spend a minimum amount at the bar for admission.
